Welcome to the Department of Endodontics
The mission of our department is to prepare endodontists with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to provide endodontic treatment of the highest quality to all patients referred to their care, to communicate effectively with patients, students and other health care providers, and to critically evaluate new knowledge or techniques. These efforts are supported by outstanding faculty who lead the field in endodontics, academic administration, and clinical staff. Research is an important activity in the Department of Endodontics. Although our funded projects cover diverse topics, much of our efforts emphasize translational and basic science research projects that evaluate pain mechanisms. These studies are facilitated by a group of basic scientists with diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise that work together as members of the Neuropharmacology Research Group to unravel the mystery of pain.
