Admission Requirements

All applicants should have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0/ 4.0.  Students are required to complete the general GRE test within the past five years. If applicable, applicants should have a TOEFL score of at least 84, IELTS score of at least 7, or Duolingo score of at least 115. International students from a university in an English-speaking country may have the language test requirement waived.  For all Radiological Sciences tracks a Baccalaureate degree in a natural science or engineering discipline is required. A degree in any other field must have provided sufficient science and mathematics courses to give the applicant the equivalent of a degree in natural science or engineering. Additional requirements for the individual tracks are listed below.

Medical Physics 

Applicants shall have a strong foundation in basic Physics, which can be documented by either an undergraduate degree in Physics or a related Engineering or Physical Science degree with a minor in Physics (i.e. a calculus-based introductory course and at least 3 junior and senior-level physics courses).  Applicants are expected to have three semesters of calculus, up to and including differential equations. Applicants also are expected to have one semester of general chemistry as well as one semester of Computer Science coursework. 

Human Imaging Track

Accepted applicants have degrees in medicine and typically are concurrently being trained in a medical residency program (Radiology, Radiation Oncology or Psychiatry) while they are pursuing their Ph.D. degree. 

Neuroscience Imaging Track

Accepted applicants typically have undergraduate degrees in Psychology or Neuroscience and/or another undergraduate degree with research experience in science involving the brain. 

Radiation Biology Track

Applicants are expected to have completed at least two years (four semesters) of courses in undergraduate biology along with general Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry as well as basic Physics coursework.
