Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing Education

Program Overview

For the Master of Science in Nursing degree, a minimum of 36 semester credit hours of graduate courses is required. A student must achieve no less than the total number of semester credit hours for the specific major/degree program, which may exceed 36 semester credit hours, in order to graduate.

The program of study includes required core courses and major courses.

To graduate, a student must have an overall minimum GPA of 3.0, at least a 3.0 average in nursing courses, no more than one C in a required course, and no incomplete grades.

Course Delivery

The program is approved for hybrid delivery, meaning 50-85% of the program will be online. The program is designed to be completed in five semesters of full-time study for entering in the fall, however, part-time enrollment is feasible within the program plan. Most courses are only offered one semester of the academic year, including summers. Students will take courses as indicated on the program plan. Clinical preceptorships will be required throughout the program. Students have six years to complete a graduate or professional program under the catalog in effect when they initially registered.
