Paramedic Certification
Requirements
- Licensed EMT Basic with either National Registry or Texas Department of State Health Services.
The EMT-Paramedic program accepts a limited number of students each term of admission. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received and considered complete, including submission of required documents "See Admission Requirements". Due to the limited number of spots available, we strongly recommend that prospective students submit their application and documents early to secure a place in the program.
Applicants must meet the basic requirements for admission to the Department of Emergency Health Sciences.
Admission to any EHS program does not guarantee eligibility for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians or certification by the Texas Department of State Health Services

Criminal background check, drug test, immunization records and official transcripts
Admissions application and fee must be received by the University Registrar by the deadline to be considered on-time and eligible for review.
Application fee $60
First-time College Students: Submit documentation of high school diploma or GED.
Students with College Credits: Only Submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended.
Note: The EMT Paramedic program is exempt from the Texas Success Initiative requirements
Documentation of EMT certification for Paramedic Program enrollment. Students who currently are enrolled in an EMT course or who have completed EMT coursework and are engaged in the credentialing process should provide a statement to this effect.
