Our team has organized a series of informative and engaging workshops designed to guide you through the BioMed Career Fest recruiter fair and future career opportunities.

We have six different opportunities for you! You can register for all the opportunities or select the opportunities you are interested in. Additionally, we will be having an Elevator Pitch Competition at BioMed Career Fair. Please fill out the interest form if you would like to participate. 

1. Resume and Interview Skills Workshop led by Dr. Amanda Ramirez
   • Monday, February 10^th at 4:30 p.m. 
   • Virtual
   • Details: This Resume and Interview Skills Workshop will provide students with tips to build interview confidence by practicing common interview questions and refining their responses; developing strategies to present themselves confidently and professionally; and revising resumes to attract the attention of hiring managers and experienced scientists.

2. JCPenney Suit-Up Event- North Star Mall

   • Saturday, February 15^th at 11 am - 2 pm

   • Details: Already looking forward to your next conference or job interview?
     You’ll need a suit for that! Come to North Star Mall JCPenney on February 15, 2025 where students can receive up to 45% off JCPenney’s professional wear. Brought to you by the GSBS and SON Offices of Student Success.

      

3. Personal Branding: How to Craft and Deliver a Memorable Elevator Pitch 

   • Tuesday, February 18^th at 5:30 p.m.
   • Hybrid – Virtual/ALTC 1.101
   • Details: In today’s fast-paced world, being able to deliver a clear, concise, and compelling elevator pitch is essential—whether you’re networking, interviewing, or simply introducing yourself to a potential employer. This workshop will help you develop an elevator pitch that effectively communicates who you are, what you do, and what you’re looking for in a way that leaves a lasting impression.

4. Enventure San Antonio Info Session 
   • Thursday, February 20^th at 5:00 pm

   • Details: As a young professional, you are the future of life science innovation. Enventure San Antonio is designed to help you grow your network, learn more about industry, and discover future career opportunities, all without having to take time off from your degree program. 5. Biomed Career Fest Kickstart: Network Like a Pro
   • Wednesday, February 26^th at 5:00pm
   • Location: ALTC 1.107 – 91PORN Long Campus
   • Details: This workshop will cover tips, strategies, and insights to help GSBS students build meaningful connections, expand their professional circle, and open doors to new opportunities. This workshop aligns with the University’s mission of making lives better by equipping students with the skills to build meaningful professional relationships and develop their career.

6. LinkedIn Primer Workshop led by Dr. Amanda Ramirez
   • Wednesday, March 5 at 4:30 pm

   • Details: Enventure San Antonio will be hosting Powerhouse Therapeutics Inc. Powerhouse Therapeutics was founded to elevate scientific discoveries into practical solutions by reshaping the future of cell-based therapy. Their proprietary platform targets critical pathways within tumor cells and their microenvironment. Unlike conventional therapies that focus on one pathway, the approach taken by Powerhouse Therapeutics precisely and selectively disrupts multiple resistance mechanisms at once, leading to more durable responses and better patient outcomes.
