Physician Assistant Studies Program Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Complete program prerequisites by the application deadline (September 1)
- Overall GPA of 3.0
- Overall science GPA of 3.0
- official scores up to five years old (no minimum score requirement).
- Health care experience, observation, shadowing, and community service hours are strongly recommended

Physician assistants are important members of the health care team. They care for patients, under the supervision of a physician, in a range of medical settings and specialties.
Program at a Glance
The Physician Assistant Studies program begins in May and runs continuously for 30 months, with 14 months of academic lectures followed by 16 months of clinical rotations at sites throughout Texas.
