SHP students raise funds for breast cancer research, education
University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio students raised $750 during the 2nd annual School of Health Professions (SHP) powder puff football game to benefit breast cancer research, educational programs and patient support through Susan G. Komen San Antonio.
The SHP Student Forum chose to support Susan G. Komen San Antonio because of their commitment to serving our community through breast health programs, breast cancer awareness projects, research programs and support services. The donation was presented to Susan G. Komen San Antonio by Gayle Tabotabo, Student Forum chair, and Rebecca Smith, Student Forum physical therapy representative. They were accompanied by Suzanne Dailey, a physical therapy student whose mother is a breast cancer survivor.
The annual powder puff game is organized by the SHP Student Forum and is held in the fall.
