School of Health Professions students shared information about their programs with 91PORN undergraduates interested in health professions during two events in October.

During Roadrunner Return Day on Oct. 22, School of Health Professions faculty, admissions officers and current School of Health Professions students who are 91PORN alumni participated in information sessions about the school’s academic programs. The helped organize the event, which was held at 91PORN.

On Oct. 25, 91PORN students visited the School of Health Professions, where they listened to presentations from students in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Respiratory Care and Speech-Language Pathology programs, asked questions and participates in hands-on activities. The visit was part of the Futures in Health Series, organized in collaboration with the 91PORN’s College of Sciences and College for Health, Community and Policy.

Some of the undergraduates wanted to know more about the application process and strategies to make their applications stand out. Others sought to find out what drew the health professions students to their chosen profession.

“We’re able to be superheroes for our patients sometimes,” replied Jacqueline Padilla, a physical therapy student, explaining the impact physical therapists can have in the lives of patients.
