Becoming a Resilient Scientist Training

Workshop Series Description

The Resilient Scientist Training program leverages the success of the NIH Becoming a Resilient Scientist training, made accessible by the NIH Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE).  This nationally-recognized training program provides the tools needed to be successful in graduate school and beyond including maintaining well-being, developing assertiveness, feedback resilience and improving your mentoring relationships.

Sessions

  • Session I: An Introduction to Resilience and Well-Being
  • Session II: Exploring Self-Talk and Imposter Syndrome
  • Session III: Self-Advocacy and Assertiveness
  • Session IV: Developing Feedback Resilience
  • Session V: Managing Up to Maximize Mentoring Relationships

In our UTHSCSA-based program, you will view training modules independently and then attend small group sessions to support discussion of key concepts and peer mentorship during the learning process.  These sessions will be moderated by GSBS staff members who will help guide discussion and provide knowledge on institutional resources related to resilience and wellbeing.
